IBM or Toshiba or Sony?

天阿, 最近做這個 research... all confused now!!

I dunno if I care more about the weight of my laptop or hard drive size or sys memory and how to weigh it out in terms of how much these things cost. And IBMs are usually ugly man... but look at the price of Sony!! Gees...

I'm thinking about IBM ThinkPad T42 and R51, Sony B100, and Toshiba... well... there are too many for Toshiba, not sure how to choose!! Satellite A or M or P series? Tecra?

Gosh someone please advise...

Specs I'm lookin' at:
- Pentium 4-M
- 512 MB to 1 GB
- 64 MB graphics
- 14.1 and above inch screen
- lasting battery life
- internal optical drives
- 40-80 GB hard drive
- wireless, USB, maybe CF slots and PC card slots

Is this way too much or too little?

Haha... me too... I think IBMs don't look good, 但至少它不錯啊. 如果沒外表又沒內容那不就更慘. :p

Hey Kuki~
Remember our tanning plan? Do you still wanna do that girl :)?
Oh and we definitely have to go to the salsa class! but this sunday we're taking my sis to PNE, so maybe next sunday?
btw, I like your new layout. Pretty different from the previous one with black background. White is very suitable for the summer breeze :D

I have a toshiba Tecra S1. It comes with centrino system; therefore, it has the wireless internet ability you are looking for. Also, I personaly love the keyborad of Toshiba computers. However, the one I have weighs 3.1 kg. girl~it's like hell to carry it around. Here I suggest you to get a nice decent small laptop~ buy a laptop that you would want to carry around with you~ not a one heavy like hell~ if you want a computer with monster hardwears~you can always upgrade your desktop~

the specs you looking at are pretty reasonable i think.

except the internal optical drives yet..
i didn't hear of this before.. sounds very high class.

usually for girls,
the weight of the thing should be around 2 kg or less ba.

unless you intend to do weight training like i did when i bought mine.

usually with 14.1 inch screen the weight shouldn't get more than 2.7~2.8 kg. ( don't think any company will produce a 14.1 inch and heavy as hell laptop.)

no idea what does "lasting battery life" means..
rn't that the purpose of all battery?

personally i love asus.. so can't really recommand you on brand.. but i heard toshiba is pretty good.

and if possible.. get ur ram to 1GB ba...
but since you don't play video game..
unless you intend to do heavy graphic photoshop stuff.. i guess doesn't make that much of a difference between 512 and 1024

as for CPU.... i can't remember anything about the time i bought my laptop..
look into that later ba

I think it gives all you ask for for 1899.

the specs you listed is quite standard

depends your budget, how much you want to spend

DO NOT buy IBM or SONY,
IBM, not that convenient, not designed for student
SONY, way too expensive, mostly is buying the brand name...etc

Toshiba is fairly good last fairly long
but a decent one will cost more than 2k after the tax

Dell, SOME models are pretty good, less expensive

If you need some help/advise,
you could msg me, then I will help you to find one.

Hmm, I actually like IBM laptops (even tho I've never owned one). Toshiba is pretty good as well (again it really depends on ur budget). I don't recommend Sony either.

I like the new layout. ^^

Take care, ok?
